Ben Wallet

High-Level overview of Ben, a KALE-focused smart wallet built on Stellar.

Ben is the first, android native wallet for the KALE ecosystem on Stellar, offering a friendly, intuitive and easy to use UX.

Goals

  • Easy onboarding to Stellar via the KALE ecosystem.

  • Easier UX for current complex clients (this app serves as an easier to use counterpart to the console miners).

  • Both an Ecosystem Value-producing application and a Developer mainnet live testing tool.

  • It is important to highlight that once Protocol 23 is deployed, higher limits will require higher network usage to re-test; the mobile app has the potential to bring additional “test” users (where load comes from real-life interactions).

  • Test client for follow-up AnyToken paymaster project.

Stellar Ecosystem Value-Add & Strategy

  • It has become very clear that Web3 will be built upon mobile apps. We should invest into tech and tools that make building them on Stellar, easier.

  • Putting more weight into device-targeted focused apps might provide a head start with upcoming NFC tech for payments.

  • Standardize Smart Wallets and Passkeys on Stellar as build primitives.

  • Provide an implementation reference (and operations framework) for future mobile native apps on Stellar.

  • In the long-term, generate enough value-add in terms of interest and engagement from both the Kotlin and Jetbrains community, for Web3 mobile-focused projects.
